About SADHNA

Society for the Advancement of Human and Nature (SADHNA), a non-profit organization, is registered on 22-06-2006 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (ACT No 21 of 1860) and HP Amendment Act, 1973 in the office of Joint Registrar, Firms Societies and Chits, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.


Objectives

  • To preserve and conserve the Himalayan Primary Bio-diversity and natural resources
  • Conservation, enhancement and utilization of forests and their resources
  • Promotion to agro-forestry and horticulture in rural areas
  • To facilitate employment generation through land development and other allied land based and related activities including plantations
  • To promote increasing national understanding amongst youth
  • To organize activities for the preservation of culture heritage especially of the rural areas
  • To work for the improvement socio-economic status of the poor and illiterate backward population
  • To organize programmes and activities aimed at farming and agriculture
  • To recognise the students, scientists and farmers working in the field of agriculture

SADHNA at Dr YS Parmar University

The main chapter of SADHNA has been started at Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (HP). The following activities are being organized by the Society under this chapter:

  • Publishing peer-reviewed research journal entitled International Journal of Farm Sciences (ISSN: 2229-3744 Print, 2250-0499 Online)
  • Running of Distance Learning Schools on themes related to agriculture
  • Conducting environment awareness activities
  • Recognizing the scientists, scholars, students, managers, extension workers, etc. for their outstanding work in agriculture and allied fields
  • Organizing trainings, workshops, symposia, meetings, conferences based on agriculture and related field
